BEHIND THE BANSHEE

Hey there! I'm Niamh MacKenna - an Irish graduate with a BA (Honors) in Model-Making, Design and Digital Effects in the National Film School (IADT Dun Laoghaire, Co. Dublin).

Broad in nature, IADT’s Model-Making Program includes an excellent combination of hands-on practical work, computer based activities, technical elements, project work, professional practice aspects, and delivery of a substantive thesis. Importantly, it encourages teamwork and develops a graduate’s ability to solve problems and think critically.

I would consider myself a creative, diligent person, with a very sociable personality and an enthusiastic work ethic who thrives off workshop culture. Over the years I have accrued a broad range (some might say motley crew!) of experience having participated in national pageants / spectacles, numerous exhibitions, model-making for TV, film, elaborate window displays, and architectural purposes, costume making / on-stage costume work, with each area and role requiring different skillsets, disciplines, and personal traits. I am an extremely capable person and avid learner putting my best efforts into any task required; be it intricate, entertaining or even tedious.

Overall, I have a huge interest in both Film/TV and Theatre and but am willing to try my hand developing all sorts of skills on any sort of project in any part of the world! As Michelangelo  said "Ancora Imparo" - I am still learning.

People have often said you hear me before you see me, much like a Banshee. Feel free to get in contact at any stage through my contact page or browse my Resume.

Enjoy!
